Parkdale is a reliable disk benchmarking tool which tests the performance of both hard drive read and write speeds as well as the testing of CD-ROM and DVD devices.
The program is pretty easy-to-use and features a basic user interface which takes next to no time to get the hang of. The left side of the user interface provides a list of devices Parkdale can benchmark while the right side offers several options including block size, file size and a start button.
Of course, a useful feature of the application is the fact that you can be warned of any possible hard drive failure if the tests don't meet expectations. The application can compare results with others who have the similar hardware.
With Parkdale, you can select between two different modes of benchmarking; FileAccess which uses the filesystem of Windows or BlockAccess with does away with Windows' own features.
You can use Parkdale to benchmark a whole array of different drives not limited to internal hard drives, SSD drives, external USB drives and more.
Once all of the options have been selected, you can go ahead and benchmark your preferred drive.
In the end, Parkdale can be a useful utility for testing the performance of connected drives and give you some knowledge about how fast your hardware really is.
